About Me

I fell in love with international flavors and a variety of cuisine by traveling the world in my twenties. I landed a career in the wine industry promoting fine wines from Chile, Italy, and Spain. My husband and I pursued our passion for travel by jet setting frequently. I was fortunate enough to live just outside both American culinary centers, New York and San Francisco. My palate was forever changed. I blogged about my experiences and shared my recipes via Eatwellwithwine.com. I’ve left this content as it’s a beautiful segment of my past.

Now I’m in my thirties. I’ve been married 12 years and am a mom to two kiddos. I’m currently navigating through the chaos of maintaining a healthy marriage, parenting with intention, and pursuing my personal passions.  I had to change the way I cooked when our first little one arrived. I didn’t have hours in the car on a sales route to day dream about what elaborate meal I would concoct that night. But I didn’t want to sacrifice a nutritious meal with gusto either. The first few years I tried to manage everything separately. Throw a few toys and pray that I’d get an hour to cook. Everything about the kitchen started to stress me out. How to keep a kid distracted, how to maintain creativity with my meals, when I’d have time to clean the mess, and where I would find the energy. Then one day it all clicked for me and the magic started to happen. I started to give Quinner the choice to participate or play independently.  The choice to cook and really be involved in the kitchen or do a craft at her desk. As a young toddler, I certainly had to provide more toys and options than now, but giving her the choice empowered both of us to accomplish our goals. I compromised on making simpler and quicker meals but still with quite a bit of zest to them. I started to creatively think of ways to make it fun for her while educational as well. We bonded through the process and I’m excited to share our experiences and recipes with you!

    Hi Kristen!
My mom passed the link along to me – and I love your blog!! You’ve already inspired me to want to learn to cook well! And I also got to study abroad in Italy and it helped to change my whole perspective on meals and cooking for family…
Keep it up and I wish you the best with this! And I also wish I lived closer and we could totally be friends! haha 🙂
